A storm of protests has greeted the statement of RSS chief Mohanrao Bhagwat who criticised the 'western' lifestyle' for the prevalence of rape in India.<br /><br />In a controversial statement Bhagwat claimed that rapes took place in India and not in Bharat. Addressing a citizens' meet in Silchar yesterday, Bhagwat claimed that rapes were a crime mainly in cities and not in rural India.
