It's the second-last phase of the Uttar Pradesh elections. The battleground now shifts to western Uttar Pradesh, where the Cong-RLD alliance will be tested. Ajit Singh's son Jayant is also in the fray from Maant. This is the largest phase with 68 seats going to polls in 13 districts. Stakes are high also for Mayawati as 6 of her ministers are contesting in this phase. The Samajwadi party will look to improve from its abysmal performance of 2007 polls when it won just 6 of the 68 seats voting today. The BSP won 35 seats last time, and 6 of Mayawati's ministers will have their fortunes tested today.
