Even as the state is yet to overcome the shock of the rape and subsequent murder of a 15-year-old girl who was 6 months pregnant in Jhalawar, a 17-year-old girl was raped in Mahesh Nagar locality in Jaipur on Tuesday. The girl later set herself on fire. Police have arrested the accused. The girl, with 45% burns, is battling for life at a city hospital.<br /><br />The matter came to light on Wednesday when the hospital authorities informed the police to extract the victim's statements recorded.<br /><br />The girl alleged that she was raped by one Manish, who is also a tenant in the same building where she lives. She had gone to make an urgent call from his cell phone. The girl's father is a security guard and her mother a tailor and both were at their respective work places when the incident occurred.
