Former ministers of the previous United Progressive Alliance government have been red-flagged once again by the Union Urban Development Ministry. The ministry, under M. Venkaiah Naidu, has served notices on 16 former ministers for "staying unauthorisedly" in government bungalows for over a month now.
Informing the Lok Sabha about this, Naidu said in a written reply, "These ministers owe a total damage charges of Rs.20,92,463 for one month of unauthorised stay till July 26, 2014. Damage charges ranged from Rs.53,250 per month in case of Type V accommodation of Lalchand Kataria to Rs.2,43,678 for Type VIII accommodation of Jaipal Reddy."
A total of 683 flats, ranging from Type I to Type VII, are in the unauthorised occupation of former employees and others for a period ranging from one month to 21 years. All these people have been issued eviction notices.
Mail Today on July 5 had reported that there were at least 35 to 36 such "squatting VIPs", including former UPA ministers and some other MPs who have lost in the recent Lok Sabha elections.
They all were then served notices to vacate their accommodations. Mail Today had published about 17 names in that report, all from the previous UPA government.

For More information on this news visit: http://www.itvnewsindia.com/
For More information on this news, visit: http://www.indianews.ind.in/
Connect with us on Social platform at: http://www.facebook.com/IndiaNewsTV
Subscribe to our You Tube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/itvnewsindia
Connect with us on Social platform at: https://www.facebook.com/pages/India-News/371196196360607
