Former Union minister Jaswant Singh is in "very critical" condition after suffering a head injury at his home on Friday, the government said.<br /><br />A defence ministry statement said: "At present the condition is very critical. He is on life support systems and under constant monitoring by a team of neurosurgeons and critical care providers."<br /><br />"He (Singh) has sustained a head injury and has been admitted to the ICU (intensive care unit)," said a doctor at the Army Research and Referral Hospital where the former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader was admitted early on Friday.<br /><br />"Right now he is under the observation of neurosurgeons and critical care specialists," added the doctor who did not wish to be named.<br /><br />A staff member at Singh's residence here declined comment on the seriousness of his head injury.
