After the opinion polls predicted a majority for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Haryana, the good news also comes from other state that goes in the polls- Maharashtra. The opinion poll predicts that BJP would manage to be the biggest party in Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2014, which is scheduled to happen on October 15. The survey says that BJP would win 120 seats in the state. The Shiv Sena will be second by winning 67 seats. The anti-incumbency threat continues to go against Congress and NCP as the poll predicts that the parties will win 46 and 36 seats respectively.

The ABP News Nielson poll suggests that Raj Thackeray’s MNS would fail to create any magic and would be reduced to 8 seats from the current 13. Independents in the state are projected to bag 11 seats.

In the 2009 Maharashtra Assembly Elections, Congress and NCP formed government in Maharashtra after winning 82 and 62 seats respectively; while the BJP managed to win 46 and Sena won 44 seats. The Raj Thackeray-led MNS had won 13 seats in the 288-seat Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.

Though BJP could is predicted to win the majority of seats in the state, the party will still not touch the magic figure of 145. The BJP would need support from other parties to prove majority and to form government.

When it comes to choose the most favoured candidate as Maharashtra’s chief minister, Sena President Uddhav Thackeray is way ahead of his competitors. According to the survey, Sena’s Uddhav (22%) emerges on the top for the chief ministerial post, followed by BJP’s Devendra Fadanvis (19%) and Congress’ Prithviraj Chavan (14%). The trait of inaction of Chavan has become one of the prime reasons for people to vote against Congress as majority (57%) of the people who responded said that they aren’t satisfied with the performance of former CM.

But the biggest question that arise is, if BJP achieves the predicted number, how will it form government in the state? Will the BJP take support from Sena? Or as per the recent rumours of NCP backing BJP will be true? The situation will be more vivid on October 19.

For More information on this news visit: http://www.itvnewsindia.com/
For More information on this news, visit: http://www.itvnewsindia.com/hindi
Connect with us on Social platform at: http://www.facebook.com/InformationTV
Subscribe to our You Tube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/itvnewsindia
