"This is not an attempt to stereotype because a majority of the people living in the area dress in that attire. It was simply a reflection of that, not a deliberate attempt to single out a community."<br /><br />But political parties were quick to latch on to the issue and targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Gujarat for stereotyping a particular community.<br /><br />JDU leader Ali Anwar said, "Mr Modi (Prime Minister Narendra Modi) was the CM of Gujarat, still we see such incident taking place. It is a very unfortunate incident, it shows the mindset of the people. Terrorism should not be shown in relation to any religion."<br /><br />The Congress, too, took on the BJP with senior Congress leader Rashid Alvi saying, "Terrorism cannot be shown in relation to any religion, it is a very unfortunate incident. This kind of incidents will promote terrorism.
