Alagiri skips DMK meet

The divide in the DMK following its pullout from the UPA govt has taken a serious turn as now former Union minister MK Alagiri has today given the party's two-day crucial meet a skip. On Sunday, Alagiri met his father and party chief M Karunanidhi and conveyed his strong opposition to the "manner" in which the DMK had withdrawn its ministers from the Centre. When asked about his absence at the Chennai meet, Alagiri played evasive and questioned whether there was a compulsion that all members must attend.
