Politics makes strange bed-fellows. In what seems to be a major political realignment on the cards, congress is trying woo to JD(U). The Centre is likely to grant Bihar a 'backward status soon.. a demand that JD(U) has been relentlessly pursuing. JD(U) leader and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on his Delhi-leg of Adhikar Yatra had clarified that his party will support whoever meets the demand of granting special status to Bihar. A senior government source informs NewsX that Centre will be mulling a new criteria to decide which states deserve 'backward status'.
