NewsX: In a major crackdown on bookies carrying on illegal betting in India, police have raided several places and made arrests. In Goa as many as 6 persons were arrested while in Pune 2 others were held.<br /><br />In the raids in other places, 8 bookies were arrested in Mumbai, five in Kanpur and nine from Ghaziabad. 1 bookie, has been taken into police custody from Greater Noida.<br /><br />The bookie, Bhupinder Nagar, was the 4th bookie who Ajit Chandila was in touch with.<br /><br />In fact, sources in Mumbai Crime branch tell us that they are on the verge of issuing summons to a hotelier from Chennai who is under the scanner.for having links with the betting syndicate, as well as with arrested actor Vindoo and tainted CSK boss Gurunath Meiyappan.
