Even as a larger Supreme Court bench began hearing Yakub Memon's petition challenging his death warrant, the Mumbai serial blasts convict also filed a fresh mercy plea with President Pranab Mukherjee on Wednesday, a day before he is scheduled to hang in a Nagpur jail. His earlier mercy petition was rejected by the President in April last year.
On Tuesday, Memon's hanging split a two-judge bench and forced Chief Justice of India HL Dattu to constitute a larger bench which is currently hearing the petition. Memon has argued that the death warrant against him was issued even before the Supreme Court could hear his curative petition.

Connect with us on Social platform at: https://www.facebook.com/Inkhabar
Connect with us on Social platform at: https://twitter.com/InkhabarOnline
Subscribe to our You Tube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/itvnewsi...
http://www.inkhabar.com/
