NewsX: Supreme court has rejected the PIL seeking to reduce age to try juveniles as accused in rapes and murders cases. The juveniles would only be given a maximum punishment of three years. Now juvenile cannot be tried under the provisions of the Indian Penal Code. The Supreme Court has rejected a PIL that sought an amendment to the Juvenile Justice Act for lowering the age for trial of a juvenile accused.
