A newly elected sarpanch was shot dead in Haryana's Khedi Taloura village on Sunday evening. The accused, who lost the election to the victim by a small margin, is still absconding, police said. <br /><br />The 45-year-old Ramesh Yadav, who had sold his two acre land to contest the polls, belongs to the dalit community.
