The Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) on Thursday said its "democratic and peaceful" movement for statehood is being "forcefully crushed", and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh "must hear our prayers and spare a thought".<br /><br />"On this great day (Independence Day), the nation needs to remember that the Gorkhas' voice has not been heard. The Hon'ble PM must hear our prayer and spare a thought for us! Your support will encourage us to achieve our goal for statehood. Our plea has been overlooked!
