Coalgate fire singes the parliament both houses adjourned within minutes as a belligerent Opposition demanded Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's statement on missing files related to the allocation of coal blocks to private companies at throwaway prices.<br /><br />Left insisted that the government can ensure smooth functioning of the houses if prime minister made a statement on the floor of the house. However, government ruled out any reply by the prime minister saying he is not a custodian of files. Neither is he sitting in storerooms protecting them.
