Govt files affidavit in sc on autonomy to CBI. <br />Centre opposes CBI director's demand for more powers. Director demanded that CBI's director should be equivalent to the secretary to the govt of India. <br />Director should be allowed to directly report to the minister. <br />But centre today said that director cannot be given so many powers.
