NewsX: Central Bureau of Investigation director Ranjit Sinha said this while drawing a bizarre analogy at a panel discussion in New Delhi on Tuesday evening. He was arguing that betting should be legalised as it was difficult to enforce a ban and then he said, "If you can't prevent rape, enjoy it." He later tried to defend himself saying that he "just used a proverb to make a point," but that did nothing to stop the deluge of outrage on social media. BJP spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman argued that merely coming out with a clarification will not repair the damage caused and Sinha should apologise.
