It was the most awaited landmark judgment by the apex court. Securing the rights of women, 3 out of 5 judges of the SC panel declared Triple Talaq as illegal and unconstitutional. While CJI JS Khehar and Justice Abdul Nazeer were of the view that Triple Talaq cannot be declared unconstitutional, CJI passed the ball to the parliament's court asking them to pass a Legislation within 6 months, the other 3 judges gave a judgment against Triple Talaq.
