Kolktata's reputation on women safety took a beating on Monday yet again when a 21-year-old woman, headed home to Howrah from her workplace at the posh South City Mall in South Kolkata, was abducted by five people from Kidderpore, beaten up, gang-raped and dumped at Babughat, near the Hooghly River. <br /><br />One of the five accused, Mohammad Hamid (21), a resident of Dhakuria's Babubagan, was arrested in the evening. A senior Kolkata Police officer said Hamid had confessed to the crime. "We have cracked the case.
