Anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare Thursday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take immediate steps for the appointment of Lokpal and Lokayuktas.<br /><br />In a letter to Modi in Hindi, he said: "Today (Aug 28), three years have been completed of my hunger strike but the Lokpal and Lokayukta could not be appointed so far."<br /><br />"The Lokpal and Lokayuktas Bill-2013 was passed in the parliament in December, 2013 and also received the assent from the president but no appointment took place despite the passage of eight months," he said.<br /><br />After getting parliament's approval, the bill had received assent from President Pranab Mukherjee Jan 1, 2014 and came into force from Jan 16, 2014.<br /><br />Besides, Hazare praised Modi for his Independence Day speech.
