Five students of Lady Velankanni Composite College in Varthur were suspended on Wednesday for allegedly ragging, stripping and thrashing first-year PU student Karthik Tyagarajan.<br /><br />Karthik, 17, is undergoing treatment at Vydehi Hospital after he was beaten up allegedly by 15 senior students on the college campus on Tuesday. Sources said a dispute over funds for Ganesha festivities on Friday was the cause. A group of seniors was collecting money for the festivities only from juniors. When Karthik questioned this, the seniors took him on.<br /><br />Karthik said: "Some men, including seniors of my college, approached me when I was going for lunch on Tuesday. They took me into a room where there were no cameras.
