23 Killed in Alabama by<br />Devastating Tornado Outbreak Lee County, Alabama, was hit by<br />multiple tornados on March 3, 2019. 23 people have been killed,<br />with dozens more injured. The first tornado to rip through<br />the county was at least a half-mile wide<br />and categorized as an EF-3. It struck so suddenly that residents<br />only received a 20 minute warning. EF-3 storms have wind speeds<br />between 158-206 miles per hour. Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones, via USA Today First responders are still<br />searching for survivors and<br />the death toll is expected to rise. This is the nation’s deadliest<br />tornado outbreak since May 20, 2013.
