Do give Chef Tarika's version of spicy curry a try and let us know your feedback in the comments below.<br /><br />Ingredients:<br />1 Onion, sliced<br />1/4 cup Peanuts<br />1/4 cup Dry Coconut, desiccated<br />2 tbsp White sesame seeds<br />8 Large Green Chillies, slit<br />2 tbsp Oil<br />1/4 tsp Red Chilli powder<br />1/2 tsp Turmeric powder<br />1/2 tsp Garam masala powder<br />2 Garlic cloves, minced<br />1/2 inch Ginger, minced<br />Water<br />1 tbsp Oil<br />1/2 tsp Cumin seeds<br />Dried Curry leaves<br />1 tbsp Tamarimd + Water<br />1 1/2 cup Water<br /><br />Method of preparation:<br />Heat a pan on low to medium heat, add onion and dry roast it.<br />Once the onions are slight brown in colour, add peanuts, coconut, white sesame seeds and take them out on a plate.<br />Heat oil in a pan, lightly fry the chillies in it.<br />Grind the onion mixture that we had dry roasted earlier with red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, garlic cloves,ginger, water and grind it into smooth paste.<br />Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, curry leaves, ground paste and cook it for 5 minutes.<br />Add tamarind water,mix well and add more water.<br />Add fried chillies and let them cook.<br />Add salt, give it a good stir and our Mirchi Ka Salan is ready to serve.
