Ahead of the Indian general elections, saris bearing the face of Prime Minister Narendra Modi have already won over shoppers in Mumbai. A clothing shop in the west coast financial city has sold more than 2,200 of the Modi-themed women’s garments this year. The shop’s owner expected a further surge in sales closer to election time.<br />Later this week, officials will announce dates for the election, which is expected to happen sometime in May. The Indian prime minister from the ruling Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party will be running for election a second time, facing Rahul Gandhi from the opposition Congress Party.<br />
