Amazon's 'Lord of the Rings' <br />Reveals Series Setting There were rumors that the show would focus on a younger version of <br />Viggo Mortenson's character, Aragorn. It has since been revealed that the <br />highly-anticipated series will take <br />place in the "Second Age," which occurred thousands of years before <br />the events in the 'Lord of the Rings' movies. Aragorn was born in the "Third age,"<br />so he will most likely not appear in the show. In a teaser, Amazon released maps that depict where the show will take place. The "Second Age" ended with the defeat <br />of the Dark Lord Sauron after he <br />created the Ring of Power. It also contains events like the creation of Rivendell, the ancient city of the Elves. Casting for the fantasy epic has <br />not yet been revealed.
