Trump Endorses Permanent Daylight Saving Time Daylight saving time (DST) currently<br />begins the second Sunday of March<br />and runs until the first Sunday of November. In recent years, more than 24 states<br />have considered putting an end to the<br />biannual clock change between standard<br />and daylight saving time. In 2018, Florida became the<br />first state to approve year-round DST. California may soon follow suit<br />after a proposition to adopt permanent<br />DST was approved by voters in 2018. President Donald Trump took to Twitter to voice<br />his support for the efforts, saying, "making Daylight<br />Saving Time permanent is O.K. with me!" The Sunshine Protection Act,<br />proposed by senators Marco Rubio and Rick Scott, has recently been re-introduced to Congress<br />and calls for permanent DST nationwide. Rubio had previously introduced a similar measure in 2018 that didn’t advance to the Senate.
