Trump Orders US Grounding<br />of Boeing 737 MAX 8 and 9 Planes President Donald <br />Trump's Wednesday <br />afternoon order <br />is effective immediately. Trump said all of the Boeing <br />planes that were currently <br />in flight would be ordered to land. The order follows new <br />information about the recent <br />crash of Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302. The MAX 8 flight crashed into a <br />field shortly after take off on <br />Sunday, killing all 157 people aboard. In the following days, dozens <br />of countries grounded the planes after investigators drew parallels <br />between that crash and the <br />Lion Air MAX 8 crash last year <br />that killed 189 people. Prior to Trump's order on Wednesday, <br />Canada also ordered the grounding of <br />the Boeing planes citing the new data. China was the first country <br />to order the suspension of <br />the Boeing MAX 8 and 9 <br />planes on Monday evening.
