New York City opened up a massive new public space, known as "The Vessel" yesterday (March 15), offering an experience of culture, art, and commerce all in one place.<br /><br />Footage from the event shows the opening ceremony, speeches, ribbon cutting, and a first view inside the Vessel, a huge monument, reportedly costing $25 billion, in the centre of New York's newest neighbourhood. <br /><br />Celebrities attending the event included journalist Anderson Cooper, US Senator Chuck Schumer and Big Bird from Sesame Street.
