California Is No Longer Suffering From a Drought The state had been stricken with a <br />shortage of water for the past seven years. @droughtcenter, via Twitter A drought emergency was <br />issued in 2014 and was then <br />lifted three years later. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the current and very wet winter has helped speed up drought recovery. Parts of Los Angeles <br />even recently saw snow. The agency says under 10% of California is now in an <br />"abnormally dry" status. 75% is at the "moderate drought" <br />level as of December 2018. NOAA, via NBC
