Mozambique's President says a massive storm that has gripped the country may have killed more than a thousand people.<br />Filipe Nyusi made the assessment while speaking on national radio.<br />Cyclone Idai has left a trail of destruction since making landfall last Thursday, submerging entire villages and leaving bodies floating in the floodwaters.<br />The official death toll stands at just over 80, with many still missing.<br />Idai is said to be the deadliest storm in generations to hit the African nation. <br />It has since moved on to Zimbabwe and Malawi, where scores of people have also died. <br />
