President Moon Jae-in is urging the government to revive the country's manufacturing industry.<br />At a cabinet meeting Tuesday,.. he said it's a relief some key economic data, including that on employment, has seen an upward trend recently.<br />But he admitted the manufacturing industry remains a big problem.<br />Take a look.<br /><br />"The slowdown of the global economy is causing difficulties in the global manufacturing industry, but we cannot blame that alone. The fact is, our manufacturing sector is losing competitiveness."<br /><br />The president also called for the faster distribution of eco-friendly vehicles, including electric and hydrogen cars,... as well as highlighting the importance of new industries, the bio, health, and 5G industries.<br />Officials at the meeting were also briefed on the results of President Moon's three-nation ASEAN tour.<br />He emphasized the need for joint efforts with ASEAN nations for an era of co-prosperity.<br />Meanwhile, the Cabinet approved tax expenditure programs to boost job creation and innovation-led growth.<br />The government will lower the bar for receiving tax credits for companies that try to bring stay-at-home moms back into the workforce<br /> <br />
