Govt will write to Singapore to commute death sentence for Malaysian

Referring to the case of Michael Garing who faces the death sentence in Singapore for the murder of 41-year-old construction worker Shanmuganathan Dillidurai in 2010, de facto Law Minister Datuk Liew Vui Keong on Tuesday urged Singapore to commute the death sentence imposed on the Sarawakian for murder.<br /><br />He also said that a letter had been sent to the Singaporean President who has the discretion over such matters.<br /><br />Michael Garing was convicted of murder in Singapore in 2015 and has been scheduled to be executed in Changi Prison on March 22.<br /><br />Read more at https://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2019/03/19/govt-will-write-to-singapore-to-commute-death-sentence-for-malaysian/
