Dirk Nowitzki Moves Up <br />NBA's All-Time Scoring List In passing Wilt Chamberlain, the longtime Mavericks superstar now ranks sixth. Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle, <br />via 'ESPN' Nowitzki will retire at the end of <br />this current season. The seven-foot German native was <br />drafted ninth overall by the <br />Mavericks in 1998. He went on to lead them to <br />15 playoff appearances and <br />an NBA title win in 2011. The future Hall of Famer also won the MVP award in 2007 and is a <br />14-time All-Star. Nowitzki is credited with being the first frontcourt player to also be a perimeter threat. His currently ranks 11th on the NBA's all-time three-point list.
