One-Third of Uninsured <br />Americans Can't Afford <br />Their Meds, Says Report The report was <br />conducted by <br />the Centers for <br />Disease Control. It investigated strategies used <br />by people who were prescribed <br />drugs in 2017 to lower their costs. The study found that <br />1/3 of uninsured patients <br />could not afford to take their <br />medicine as it was prescribed. It also found that nearly <br />one in five people asked <br />their physician for cheaper meds. Among the uninsured, <br />nearly 40% made <br />the same request. A Kaiser Family <br />Foundation poll <br />conducted in February found that almost 80% of <br />Americans feel that <br />prescription drug <br />costs are unreasonable.
