South Korea's trade deficit in intellectual property rights hit a record low last year...mainly due to strong exports of local game companies' franchise rights. <br />According to the Bank of Korea on Thursday, the deficit was 720-million U.S. dollars in 2018.<br />This is sharply down from last year's 1-point-six-five billion dollars.<br />South Korea has seen a deficit in the sector ever since related figures were first compiled in 2010.<br />The central bank attributed the smaller deficit to more game companies selling franchise rights and computer programs overseas. <br />
