Ichiro Suzuki Announces<br />Retirement From<br />Major League Baseball Suzuki, an outfielder<br />for the Seattle Mariners, <br />is retiring after 18 years of MLB. He made his debut with the<br />Mariners in 2001, after playing<br />over 1,200 games in Japan. He won the American League<br />Rookie of the Year award and<br />Most Valuable Player that year. Suzuki played for both the<br />New York Yankees and Miami<br />Marlins before returning<br /> to the Mariners in 2018. He had a .311 batting<br />average, 3,089 hits,<br />117 home runs and 780 RBI.
