This is the touching moment an animal rescuer saves a peacock from a 40-feet well in South India. <br /><br />A resident of Perambra village near Calicut in Kerala saw that a peacock had fallen into a dry well early this week. He assumed that it would fly to the surface.<br /><br />On March 20, he was passing through the well and looked inside out of curiosity and was surprised to find the bird still inside. <br /><br />He informed Santosh Kumar, a volunteer with People for Animals, who rushed to the spot with his friends. <br /><br />Santosh got down the well with the help of a rope and managed to get a hold of the terrified bird. He then put it in a bag, climbed up and hauled it up. <br /><br />The peacock was later freed in a nearby area where many birds live.
