The U.S. Coast Guard's Bertholf is to be deployed to waters off Jeju Island this week to crack down on illegal drug shipments as well as for rescue and operations.<br />South Korea's Coast Guard says.... the Bertholf, a Legend-class maritime security cutter, will be deployed to Jeju port for three days until Thursday... with a joint drill planned on the last day with the South Korean Coast Guard.<br />The U.S. had requested the drill during the North Pacific Coast Guard Forum held in China last September.<br />The 45-hundred ton Bertholf is the largest patrol ship in the U.S.,.... and can operate offshore for more than six months.<br />And it's considered quite rare for the Bertholf to join a drill outside American waters. <br />
