A sick elephant named Lakshmi collapsed onto her side near a forest in north India on Saturday (March 23), and had to be lifted upright with a crane to receive some injections. <br /><br />Lakshmi was spotted by local people near the Ramnagar forest area in Uttarakhand who contacted officials from the Forest department, who assisted in lifting her upright with a crane to give her some injections.<br /><br />Reportedly she was too weak to return to the forest and is still receiving treatment as time of reporting (March 25) to reduce swelling in her legs.
