Today, March 26th, we commemorate independence fighter Ahn Jung-geun who was executed by Japanese colonial authorities on this day in 1910.<br />A ceremony has been held at the Ahn Jung-geun Memorial Hall in central Seoul.... to mark the one-hundred-and-ninth anniversary of his death.<br />Some 500 people including the minister of patriots and veteran affairs and Ahn's family members attended the event.<br />Ahn was executed at the age of 30,... after he assassinated Hirobumi Ito,... the first Japanese resident-general posted to Korea in 1909,... during Tokyo's occupation of the country.<br />Ahn was shot at Harbin train station in China.... and this is where a memorial hall honoring Ahn is soon going reopen.<br />Ahn is also considered a hero in China as an activist against Japanese aggression. <br /><br />
