홍남기 "미세먼지 대응 기존예산 한계, 추경 검토"<br /><br />Korea's finance minister recently said the government is considering a supplementary budget for dealing with the fine dust pollution that's been clogging the air.<br />Today, the minister gave a rough amount of how much it might be -- around 1 trillion won, or over 8-hundred-80 million U.S. dollars.<br />Minister Hong Nam-ki was speaking at a meeting of parliament's finance committee.<br />An extra budget would be subject to parliamentary approval.<br />He said the existing budget is not enough to fundamentally solve the fine dust issue,... and he reiterated what officials have said -- that it's a "social disaster," a designation that would free up funds to deal with it.
