Verizon to Launch Free App <br />for Blocking Robocalls It is expected to be available for download very soon. It will be a free version of Verizon's <br />current call-filtering app. AT&T also recently said it is developing <br />new features for ending robocalls. Both companies say they are <br />now participating in the <br />"SHAKEN/STIR" protocol. The technology uses authentication to expose robocalls and other types <br />of spam. Fake calls are on the rise in the U.S. due to them disguising themselves as legitimate numbers. While "SHAKEN/STIR" wont block them 100 percent,<br />carriers say it will let you know when the <br />phone calls are coming. AT&T and Comcast, via statement
