Jacob deGrom Signs Contract Extension With the Mets New York has locked up its <br />ace starting pitcher for an <br />additional five years. ESPN reports that the deal <br />is worth $137.5 million. Before signing the extension, deGrom was under contract with New York until after the 2020 season. Despite just recording 10 wins, <br />deGrom easily won the <br />National League Cy Young Award <br />last year. The 30-year-old's season-ending 1.70 ERA was the fifth best in the MLB since 1969.
