Betsy DeVos Proposes<br />Deep Cuts to Department<br />of Education Budget Education Secretary Devos’<br />budget calls for more than<br />$7 billion in funding to be cut<br />from the Educational Department. The proposed plan would<br />specifically cut $17.6 million<br />from the Special Olympics. It would also see<br /> a 26% reduction to state<br />grants for special education, as well as cut millions<br />from programs dedicated<br />to blind students. Betsy Devos, via NBC News Devos’ budget also eliminates<br />funding for improving<br />student achievements through<br />technological advancements. She has repeatedly referred<br />to these grants as<br />redundant and ineffective.
