National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) acts as the Iranian people's Parliament-in-Exile and legislative assembly. It has over 25 committees and 530 members, 52% of whom are women. During the last 27 years, NCRI has played an effective role as the most stable national coalition and the only democratic alternative to the Iranian regime.<br /><br />Founded in 1981, NCRI is considered to be a democratic alternative to the current Iranian government. It is a large coalition of dissidents and organizations, such as the Association of Iranian Scholars and Professionals and the Association of Iranian Women, that support democratic regime change in Iran.
