The United States is cutting off aid to three Central American countries -- El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras -- for failing to stop illegal migration.<br />The announcement on Saturday came a day after President Trump claimed those countries, known as the "Northern Triangle," had set up caravans of migrants.<br />The State Department said, at the instruction of Secretary Mike Pompeo, that it's ending foreign assistance programs to them.<br />Tens of thousands of people have left those countries for the U.S. to escape poverty and violence. <br />
