The grace period for companies in South Korea violating the 52-hour work week is now over.<br />According to the Ministry of Employment and Labor,... companies that have 300 or more employees will be penalized if workers are found to have worked more than 52 hours in a given week.<br />Since the regulation was first introduced in July,... out of 392 companies inspected,... 20-percent were to have been violating the regulation.<br />Companies that have difficulty shortening their working hours due to the current flexible work system,... will be exempt from penalties until the implementation of the Flexible Work Expansion Act. <br />
