Tens of thousands of people crowded into the streets of Brooklyn in New York City on Tuesday (April 2) for the funeral of a grand rabbi, with two NYPD officers injured in the process. <br /><br />Officers tried to control the massive crowd during the procession, some estimating that there were as many as 100,000 mourners. <br /><br />The filmer told Newsflare that he filmed the footage from his office while he was at work. <br /><br />In the video, we can see the Rabbi's coffin carried in the middle of the crowd.<br /><br />Rabbi Yisroel Avrohom Portugal died at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, surrounded by his family, on Monday (April 1). He was 95 years old. <br /><br />The rabbi arrived in the United States in the 1960s after surviving the Nazi death camps and was a mainstay in Borough Park and Williamsburg for decades. <br /><br />A New York City police officer suffered a leg injury after being hit by one of the cars in the funeral procession. The second officer was hit on the head by a drone apparently used by a person attending the services. <br />Both suffered minor injuries.
