Residents of a village near Dhekiajuli in the Indian state of Assam feared for their lives recently when a wild tiger wandered close to their homes. <br /><br />A video showed villagers chasing the big cat away on April 2 by shouting and banging a metal dustbin.<br /><br />They then called forest officials who tracked the feline and managed to tranquilise and capture the animal in an operation lasting three hours. <br /><br />The female tiger was taken to Assam State Zoo.
