Overweight People Get <br />Paid Less Over one-third of the world's population is now overweight or obese. Now, overweight people are facing unique discrimination in the workplace. According to LinkedIn, overweight people reported earning less than $2,512 per year than thinner employees. Almost 1 in 4 overweight employees said they felt overlooked for a promotion due to their size. Half reported that thinner workers were more readily promoted. 39% of women reported size-based bias compared to <br />28% of men.
